July 1, I Need Help !

July 1 is months away, I know but……

I have lived in Canada for all of my life, I have eaten everything from bannock to moose to dulse to smoked meats and loads of seafood, for the life of me I can’t put my finger on what meal is Canadian , so I decided to have one standout recipe from each Province and Territory and post all that I pick and give you credit. (I like to have recipes for 4) but I will adjust for my needs.

I will also need the best cocktail from your Province or Territory( no recipe needed)

If you have any suggestions or know someone who would like to contribute please please please write your ideas on my blog on the Contact Page.

Thank You Thank You Thank You        Deborah

What I Love

I am no expert on wine pairings, but I know what I like to drink with my food. My choices of wine with each recipe is just my opinion and I would appreciate  any and all suggestions you may have. Some of my favorite wines are not that common, but are gaining favor like Zinfandel from the U.S., Viognier from France, Rioja from Spain and Dao  from Portugal all different and excellent in their own right. I also love a light Gruner Veltliner from Austria and golden lemony schnitzel and the boldness of Malbec from Argentina with a charred bbq steak. New world Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay are extremely distinctive and enjoyable and did you know that Pinot Noir goes well with seared tuna ? Try some bubbly for dinner as well, like Cava, Procceco or a Sparkling Blush wine also a great Riesling goes well with spicy Asian foods. So try my recipes and enjoy with a great glass of wine !!!

Chile not Chili

Long and very mountainous Chile has tons of beautiful and interesting places to visit, but here are just 2 that pique my interest El Tatio is a geyser field located within the Andes Mountains of northern Chile at 4,320 meters above sea level. Its name comes from the Quechua word for oven. It is among the highest-elevation geyser fields in the world.Rapa Nui National Park is a UNESCO-inscribed World Heritage Site located on Easter Island, Chile. Rapa Nui is the Polynesian name of Easter Island; its Spanish name is Isla de Pascua. Just go to Main Recipes, click on the country and try this Chilean hardy soup with a great glass of Red !!   Salud!!

Philippine Phresh !

Pancit with Pork and Shrimp

Did you know that the Spanish discovered the Philippines in 1521? and that Ferdinand Magellan would then colonize the country and I think that’s why so many filapino’s have Spanish last name, what do you think ? Well my Pancet with pork and shrimp is the farthest from anything Spanish LOL ! Just go to Main Recipes and click on the country.     Try with a great bottle of Gruner                                    Tagay !

Ethiopia March 28

This is strange or not that Ethiopia is the only country in the world to have 13 months in a year and espresso and coffee was born in Ethiopia ! There is 9 World UNESCO Sites in Ethiopia the most anywhere and you can see The Great Rift Valley from space, Far Out! Also on Wednesdays and Fridays it is prohibited to eat any animal product in Ethiopia, Well then Try making Doro Wot on any other day of the week and read more great facts about Ethiopia while sipping Chenin Blanc . Just go to Main Recipes and click on the country.
